The assignment
Visit your assigned Costco warehouse and document about 300 products from a list we provide. For each product, use your phone to capture:
- A clear photo of the product
- A clear photo showing the current price
- Product name and brand
- Costco item number, where visible
- Package size or quantity
- Sale or promotional pricing, if any
- Any shelf or display details the checklist asks for
We provide the product list and instructions; you don't research products yourself. Every scout works from the same master list, so a price in Calgary can be compared directly with the same item in Halifax.
Pay
$75 CAD per completed warehouse visit, paid once we've reviewed the submission and confirmed the required products and photos.
There may be repeat visits, additional assignments and nearby warehouses to cover.
How long does it take?
About 300 products per visit. The checklist follows the warehouse's category order, so once you know the routine you can move through it efficiently. You'll need to be comfortable walking a large warehouse and taking clear photos as you go.

Quality requirements
Photos must be clear enough for us to identify the product and read the price. Blurry photos, the wrong product, duplicate images or missing details may need to be corrected before payment.
In the warehouse
- Collect information only while shopping normally.
- Follow all warehouse rules and staff instructions. If staff ask you to stop taking photos, stop, and tell us in your submission.
- Don't interfere with employees, other members or store operations.
- Never photograph people. Frame shots on the product and the price sign only.
